So
I went to the Alternative
Press Expo this last week and let me tell you, there are way
too many comic people who are taller than I am. Here are the important
points:
- Yates
and Malki!
are two of the hippest cats on the block. We really did draw this
awful comic that ended in some kind of death and too many Pokemon
references.
- Kazu
Kibuishi is an especially great guy who, to my surprise, actually
reads my comic. We talked about things for a bit and he pulled
out his Amulet
workbook, which contained all sorts of secret forbidden knowledge.
- I
met Ben Costa who does the exceptional webcomic Shi
Long Pang, which involves Buddhist monks and more educational
Chinese history than you can shake a stick at. We got to talking
about kung fu too, which was a treat.
- I
ran into the guys who do Masters
of the Art too, who seemed either really sleepy or really
confused by my prescence at the convention. I may have only spoke
Spanish to them, but I can't remember now.
- Hope
Larson and Brian
Lee O'Malley are too nice for their own good. I was going
to invite them to go play Guitar Hero, but I forgot.
- Brian
O. has some of the coolest Victorian style artwork ever. I
was going to buy some, but then I remembered the Nucleus
gallery stole all of my money.
